She is interested in learning what it means by nature and ancestor worship, and how  faith in the God of Plague can be understood as a particular form of image icon, namely, a monster. In terms of mythology, her research interest is in how historical development and significance of Japanese and East Asian myths can gear toward ceremonial healing and religious observance.
