At the vitiation of Japanese universities, Professor WANG Yong, Director of IEAS, had a lecture tour in Tokyo from 5 to 17 July 2017.
On 7 and 8 July 2017, at Meiji University with international students from Peking University and Zeijiang University, Professor Wang presented two seminars : Book Road and Transmission of Books, and Bitan as A Communication Means by Silent Dialogue in East Asia. On 10 July 2017, Professor Wang paid a visit to Professor ARIMA Akito, who is the former President of Tokyo University, Education Mnister of Japan and a distinguished nuclear physicist of great attainment of haiku. Two of them talked freely to the content of their hearts. Professor Wang and Professor Arima first met each other in the West Lake in 2003. Since then, they have forged indissoluble bond and cross academic boundary foreign friendship under the emotional appeal of East Asian culture. On 13 July 2017, at Tokyo University, Professor Wang delivered a seminar on colloquial Dansou and classical Chinese literary style of Sibun in bitan. It attracted audiences from Tokyo University, Waseda University, Tsukuba University and Doshisha University to attend this seminar presenting the latest outcome of bitan research. On 14 July 2017, at Tokyo Gorakuryo, Professor Wang delivered Request Teachings and Making Pilgrimage to a Holy Place, which was the last seminar of this lecture tour. Audiences showed strong interest in it.
