The fifth East China Sea (International) Forum co-organized by Zhejiang Ocean University and Zhejiang University was held at Zhoushan,  Zhejiang from 21 to 22 October 2016. Scholars and experts from Ocean University of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institute for Reform and Development, Waseda  University, Niigata University, Ehime Cultural Heritage Center, Dongguk University, Mokpo National University, and more than thirty universities and research institutes participated.  The keynote speeches in this year’s forum included cultural exchanges in East China Sea in  the Perspective of One Belt One Road,East Asian Oceanic Community of Common Destiny  and  Exchange of Celadon Ware Culture. Professor Chen Xiaofa and Professor Yin Hu of IEAS presented academic papers on Chinese Ceramic Dissemination in Japan During Ming Dynasty and Maritime Rescue in the Vicinity of Diaoyu Islands respectively.This year's forum  addressed the efforts of China and peripheral countries to construct One Belt One Road, a review of the Maritime Silk Road in history, historical status of East Asian Cultural Circle  and researches on the development and dissemination of East China Sea maritime culture. All these are significant in actuating a community of common destiny in East China Sea.
