14 April 2017: Prof Liu Yucai of Beijing University delivered guest lectures at IEAS

At the invitation of Professor Wang Yong of IEAS, Professor Liu Yucai hosted two guest lectures at IEAS on 14 April 2017. 


The first lecture of renowned scholar Professor Liu focused on the bitan between Zhang Fei and Japanese scholars in Nagasaki during early Qing Dynasty , thereby providing hints for research on  the thoughts of intellectuals in late Ming Dynasty.  The focus of the second lecture was on Chinese character cultural circle and Chinese classical works outside mainland China. Over the centuries, Chinese classical works about traditional culture and academia were popular and most demand oversea. It helped expats understand China's history, culture , tradition and academic achievements. Japan, Korea and Vietnam hold old and rare Chinese classical works, including manuscripts and printed books. 


Students and faculty members from IEAS, School of Oriental Language and Culture of Zhejiang Gongshang University, and Zhejiang University attended these two lectures and actively participated in discussion.
